Wow, what happened?

Boy time does fly doesn't it?

So lately as I have spent a lot of time on the road I have felt the urge to write again. Nothing fancy, but at least maybe working on keeping the ole blog alive. This post comes to you from a dingy hotel room in South San Francisco.

A lot has happened since my last visit here. The times, they are a-changing! It has been so long that I don'e remember a lot about updating blogger, but I assume that it will probably come back to me with a little bit of effort. So please bear with me!

UPDATE!

So I no longer am a Detailing Sales Rep for the midwest with Seachem. Now don't fret as I am still with the company, however as of January of last year, I received a promotion to Sales Manager of the entire West Coast (technically everything west of the rockies, but it's all semantics at this point). Thankfully the promotion didn't require a move, as Denver has an awesome airport that services everywhere that I need to travel. The promotion came on the heels of receiving Salesman of the year for 2010 which was totally unexpected and surprised the heck out of me.

Fast forward to about the end of May 2011. I was invited to accompany our VP of Sales on a trip to Singapore for Aquarama 2011. This show is one of the biggest aquatic only trade shows in the world. It was absolutely amazing! One of the coolest experiences of my life with the exception of the flights to and from! I will have to try and post some pics because the livestock that was on display was out of this world!

Over the summer, and up until Thanksgiving, my life has been a whirlwind of trade shows, distributor open houses, and general calamity. Things finally settled down around Thanksgiving, just in time for the wife and I to host Thanksgiving dinner at our new home! Oh yeah, did I mention that we bought a home amongst all of the madness?

Talk about crazy! We decided to purchase a home closer to Denver and the airport, as well as our family in Southern Colorado. Searching for a house while only being home over the weekend was enough to make me want to pull my hair out! Luckily patience prevailed and we made it happen! We moved into our new home on October 1st and have been making the house a home for about 2 months now! The move also required moving my 65g frag tank, which didnt fare so well. An unfortunate accident during the move caused the bottom of the tank to be cracked, but luckily a friend had a suitable replacement. Unfortunately the stress of the move, coupled with the extended time that the livestock was out of the tank resulted in a lot of loss, and currently the tank is in need of some serious TLC. I suffered a good bit of depression through the loss, however being on the road again and seeing some awesome display tanks and lovely corals has given me the itch to get it in shape again.

So that brings us to December! Went back to GA for the company Christmas party where I was even more surprised to receive Employee of the Year for 2011! The award came complete with a company paid vacation and cruise to the Bahamas, which I am just itching to use! I finally have an excuse to break out by BC and Regulator and get some SCUBA diving in!

So I think that brings us full circle to my crappy hotel room in South San Francisco. Tomorrow I pick up the CEO of the company at SFO and we visit some shops in San Francisco and cap the week off with a trip to Modesto tomorrow to visit a distributor and to Albany, CA to visit a shop and friend at Albany Aquarium. We may have time to squeeze in a visit to the Redwood Forest just north of SF just before I leave tomorrow night.

So anyhow, thats the story so far and lets all pray that I can try to stick with this silly blog for 2012!

Cheers~!
